Life Story for Pansy Gertrude Cobb

Mrs. Pansy Gertrude Green Cobb, age 101, a resident of the Big Creek Community, died early Friday, July 31, 2015 at Extendicare Health and Rehab. Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday August 2, 2015 at the Big Creek United Methodist Church with Reverend Addis Habbard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Big Creek United Methodist Church or to the church cemetery, 3839 S. State Hwy. 605, Cottonwood, Al. 36320.

Mrs. Cobb was born on January 25, 1914 in Henry County the daughter of the late John Carter Green and Emma Sanders Green. She worked as a homemaker, seamstress and a farmer. Mrs. Cobb was a member of the Big Creek United Methodist Church for 88 years and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by 4 husbands, Leon Cobb, Dorsey Kirkland, Claudia Griffin and Chalmer Cobb; 2 sons, Herbert Hilson Cobb & Donald Lee Cobb; 3 sisters, Beaulah Lewis, Eunice Parrish Worley and Merlein Brooks; infant sister, Rosie Green, 2 brothers, Fletcher & Wilson Green; 2 grandsons, David Lane & Mark Lee Cobb; great grandson, Blake Borgardus, great granddaughter, Stephanie Bailey; a special niece, Alice Merle Smith; a son-in-law, John Napier.

Survivors include: son, Leon “Rusty” Cobb, Jr. (Sandra), Big Creek Community; 2 daughters, Flora Pauline Cobb, Big Creek Community; Velma Jeanette Napier, Dothan; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces & nephews; special caregivers, Ann Palmer, Barbara Gonzalez and the staff of Oxford Health Care.

Pallbearers will be: David Lane, Ricky Cobb, Rex Lewis, Leon Cobb, Christian Traegde, Andrew Traegde, Bob Harrelson and Josh Cobb.
