Obituary for Neil Clifton Bush
Neil Clifton Bush
Mr. Neil Clifton Bush, age 85, a resident of Clayton, unexpectantly passed away May 29, 2019 at Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 beginning at 9:00 at the Clayton United Methodist Church followed immediately by the funeral service which will begin at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.
Neil was born on March 14, 1934 in Clayton, Alabama to the late Walter Clifton and Mildred Trawick Bush. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Don Bush; one son-in-law, Andrew Leon Kizer; and one granddaughter, Casey Kizer.
Neil spent his early years in Barbour County and after graduating high school, he attended Troy and Auburn Universities. He served his country by joining the U.S. Army. Neil was a hardworking man who loved his family. Although he appeared rough and tough on the outside, he was actually a sweet, tender-hearted man on the inside. At times he was impatient and wanted things done yesterday, yet he was someone who would give his right arm to help someone in need. Neil was always rooting for the underdog or the unfortunate and he loved adopting stray animals that showed up at his house. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Martha Bush, Clayton; two daughters, Susan (Jeremy) Brown, Clayton, Leisa (Don Lilly) Kizer, Birmingham; two sons, Charles (Wanda) Sewell, Clayton, Jim Bush, Louisville; six grandchildren, Andy (Crystal) Kizer, Amanda (Alex) Marefka, Brian (Claire) Kizer, Caitlyn, Caleb and Abby Brown; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Andy Kizer, Brian Kizer, Caleb, Brown, Shug Roland, Pitt Williams, and Bobby Lindsey.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to:
