Obituary for Agnes Jaasma (Rhinesmith)

Mrs. Agnes Rhinesmith Jaasma, age 84, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, February 28, 2022, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend’s Allie Freeman and Robin Wilson officiating. A family graveside will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Church Parlor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to The Harbor, 320 N. Foster Street, Dothan, AL. 36303.

Mrs. Jaasma was born on January 20, 1938, in Newark, New Jersey the daughter of Charles Wesley Rhinesmith and Margaret Martin Rhinesmith. She grew up in Wayne, New Jersey where she was a 1956 Graduate of Wayne High School. Mrs. Jaasma was retired as a bookkeeper with Bishop Cleaners. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she served in the choir, Church Party, 3-year-old Sunday School teacher for 16 years, member of the Progressors Sunday School Class, and was a member of First United Methodist Womens’ group for more than 30 years and served as treasurer. Mrs. Jaasma was an avid supporter of SEACT.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include husband of 63 years, Wilbur “Will” C. Jaasma, Dothan; three daughters, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Brower (Gerry), College Station, Tx.; Jeannine Marie (Jeni) Logan (Tim), Dothan; Susan Dana (Sue) Ward (Mike), Spartanburg, S.C.; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be: Greg Brower, David Brower, Andrew Brower, Tim Logan, Mike Ward, Justin Hammond, and Gerry Brower.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Progressors Sunday School Class.
