Obituary for Allan Mayo Donelli

Allan Mayo Donelli, 75, a resident of Dothan, died unexpectedly Friday, September 25, 2020 at Flowers Hospital.

Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 via Zoom with Tom Littleton officiating. The family will visit friends following the service via Zoom. Flowers are being accepted at the family residence.

Allan was born April 2, 1945 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Mayo and Gertrude Donelli and lived the early years of his life there. In 1958, his family moved to Ozark where he resided until 1966 when he moved to Dothan. Allan was a master brick mason by trade. He was also employed with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main for many years. Allan was a private pilot and loved flying. He also enjoyed building model airplanes and woodworking. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at an early age and faithfully attended the Dothan West Congregation for 50 years.

He is predeceased by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice Donelli of Dothan; three children, Michael Donelli (Rachel) of North Carolina, Tangie Gonzalez (Juan) of Enterprise and Brian Donelli of Dothan; an adopted son, Kurt Valley (Carmen) of Dothan; grandchildren, Eric Donelli (Lindsey), Nicolas Donelli, Jace Donelli, Caleb Phillips, Kaitlyn Phillips, Jordan Dickens; five great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Flowers Hospital who cared for Allan and a special thanks goes out to the staff at Davita Home Care who made us feel like family.
