Bette Keith Dacy, a resident of Dothan, passed away at her home, Friday, April 14, 2023 after a brief illness. She was 85 years old.
Bette was born February 14, 1938, and grew up in Horse Cave, Kentucky. She moved to Alabama from Kentucky in 1990. Being a member of the Episcopal Church, Bette was active in the Daughters of the King, Episcopal Church Women and served on the church vestry. Bette enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, online and as a member of the Huntsville Bridge Association. She loved traveling around the US and the world, as well as watching Kentucky basketball and football. As a member of the Kentucky Audubon Society, Bette loved bird watching.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents William Edmund Keith and Mildred Louise Ford, her husbands’ Robert Daniel Boone and Jerry Edward Dacy.
Bette is survived by her children, Robert Daniel Boone II (Joanne), Todd Keith Boone, and Traci Boone Newton (William); her grandchildren Emily Newton Patterson (Jordan) and Ellen Boone Newton.
The family will receive friends in the Nativity’s Parish Hall from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2023. The Interment of the Ashes will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Nativity Memorial Garden with Reverend Randy Sellers officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorial be given to the Episcopal Church of Nativity, 205 Holly Lane, Dothan, AL 36301 or to the Wiregrass Area Food Bank, 382 Twitchell Road, Dothan, AL 36303.
