Obituary for Betty Jo McBrayer (Seaborn)
Betty Jo Seaborn McBrayer, age 83, of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 surrounded by loving family and caregivers.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.
Betty was born April 18, 1938 in Houston County to Jessie Lillian Reeves and Orbie Lloyd Seaborn. She graduated from Dothan High School. She and her husband Hayden enjoyed playing golf, vacationing at the beach, traveling and spending time with family and friends. They were members of Evergreen Presbyterian Church. She was a gifted singer and pianist and enjoyed entertaining. Her big personality and gregarious laughter will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Hayden McBrayer, her daughters Gene Odom, Carla Goodman, and Barbara Montoya, her brother Lloyd Seaborn Jr, and her sister Sally Perkins.
Survivors include her sister Patsy Creel of Dothan; son Kenneth McBrayer (Kathy) of Abbeville; daughter Bitsy Barkley of Montgomery, nieces Susan Parrish (Rhone), Connie Ridley (Jim) of Dothan, Patricia Morley (Ron) of Mobile; nephews Nicky McBrayer (Jan), David Creel (Tracy) of Dothan as well as many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandchildren include Jennifer Wagoner (Kevin), Heather Goldsborough (Greg), Justi Bozeman, Hayden Ward (DeeDee), Rob McBrayer, Gena LaLumia (David), Cissy Davis (Tim), Ken McBrayer (Heather), Sara and Sallie Barkley.
