Obituary for Betty June Summerford (Coonrod)
Betty June Coonrod Summerford, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday, June 23, 2022 at her residence. She was 86.
Private graveside services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordon with Reverend Randy Hunt officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Glover Funeral Home from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Ms. Summerford was born June 5, 1936 in Gordon, Alabama to Curtis Elijah and Ernestine Grubbs Coonrod and lived the early years of her life in Gordon. She was a 1954 graduate of Ashford High School. She was employed as a secretary with Dothan City Schools for 25 years prior to her retirement. Ms. Summerford was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her parents, a brother, Billy Joe Coonrod and a sister-in-law, Leslie Summerford.
Survivors include Andy Summerford (Beth) of Dothan; a daughter, Amy Summerford Tolleson (Tony) of Helena; six grandchildren, Joshua Summerford (Bailey), Jeremiah Summerford, John Curtis Summerford, Summer Tolleson Hughes (Daniel), Sydney Tolleson and Taylor C. Tolleson (Pamela Nicole); eight great-grandchildren, Sellers Summerford, Autumn and Andrew Hughes, Lexi and Layla Ayala, John William Minshew, Levi Houlditch, Paityn Tolleson and many close friends.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
