Obituary for Billy Fountain

Billy Fountain, 77, a resident of Dothan, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Monday, October 21, 2019 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charlie Nicholson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Monday prior to service time.
Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
Mr. Fountain was born August 12, 1942 in Bessemer, Alabama to Lem and Helen Cash Fountain. He lived most of his life in the Bessemer area and was a 1960 graduate of Bessemer High School. He served his country in the Alabama National Guard. He later worked as a materials coordinator with the highway signs engineering department for several years. Mr. Fountain was very active in his local civic and community organizations. He was a member of THE CHURCH and attended Wiregrass Church.
He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Edward Fountain.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Lou Fountain of Dothan; two sons, Joe Don Fountain (Valarie) of Milton, FL; Troy Fountain (Stacy) of Dothan; eight grandchildren, Kailee, Kassie, Kate, Mary Dean, Bess, Gracie, Alexa and Edward; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Ann McWhorter of Pelham; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Covenant Care Hospice, especially Bridget and Cagney for their loving care of Mr. Fountain.
