Obituary for David Golemon
David D. “Dave” Golemon, 85, of Dothan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday night, January 7, 2020 with his family at his side.
Memorial services will be held later in Naples, Florida. Glover Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society or a veteran’s organization of your choice.
Mr. Golemon was born on August 7, 1934 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Percy and Pearl Roberts Golemon and lived the early years of his life there. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Marines where he was the recipient of two purple hearts. He worked on a dredge boat in Naples, Florida for many years as a welder most of his working life. He enjoyed bowling and fishing and loved stock car racing. Mr. Golemon attended the Dothan Country Fellowship church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pat Golemon of Dothan; two daughters, Wendy Golemon of Graceville, FL and Tammi Golemon of Naples, FL; three grandchildren, Alyssa Garcia, Travis Payne and Derek Nevins; one great-grandchild, Sophia Garcia; an aunt, Margie Wilcoxon.
