Obituary for Earl Wayne Appling

Earl Wayne Appling, 81, of Dothan, died Sunday, May 3, 2020 at his residence.

Graveside services for the family will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Harper’s Joy Assembly of God Cemetery with Reverend Eddie Littlefield officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to DaySpring Hospice, 3160 W. Main St., Ste. 1, Dothan, Alabama, 36301 or in honor of Mr. Appling, please take the time to take care of your health.

Mr. Appling was born April 23, 1939 in Columbia, Alabama to James Earl and Eunice Lomineck Appling. He spent most of his life in the Columbia and Ashford area. Mr. Appling was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic with the Union of Operating Engineers all of his working career. He was a member of Harper’s Joy Assembly of God Church.

He is predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Jeanette Baron and Helen Lomineck and a brother, Ellis Appling.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Lee Simmons Appling of Dothan; a son, Danny Appling and a daughter, Anna Appling Love, both of Dothan; a sister, Sarah Appling Petersen (Marlin) of Napier Field; three grandchildren, Drake Appling, Tiffani Appling, and Caden Love, all of Dothan; several special nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Anthony Fails.
