Obituary for Edith Pearl Howell (Howell)

Edith Howell, a resident of Dothan, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at her residence. She was 59.

Graveside services will be held at 12:45 pm, Friday, July 22, 2022, at Rocky Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend John Howell officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.

Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to SOS Animal Adoption Center- Enterprise AL, 25944 Highway 134 East, Enterprise, AL 36330.

Edith was born November 10, 1962, in Dothan to Sterling Howell Jr. and Eva Pearl Hobbs Howell. She later became the first female to work for Colonial Bakery as a bread packer. Edith spent her recent years as a bus driver for Dothan City Schools. She enjoyed gardening, and interior decorating. Edith never met a stranger. She loved cats and dogs, and her special little man Dixon and adopted Nika Peral, her Belgian Malamar.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her son, Justin Wages, daughters, Elisha Hollis (Chris), Haley Johnson, Heather Wages Sanchez, Tiffanie Deese (Courtney), Candace and Cortnee Howard, Rita Roney, Billie King, and Jamie Blair (Nick); sisters, Starla Money (Mark), Vanessa Andrews (Eddie); numerous grandchildren; special cousins, Andy and Stacey Hobbs, Mike Shiver, Pam Shiver, Paige Hobbs, Kolton Zachary, Mia Zachary; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
