Emmett Stuart “Peter” Ingersoll, Jr., a resident of Dothan, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at his residence. He was 90.

Private memorial services will be held for the family.

Mr. Ingersoll was born May 4, 1930 in Buffalo, New York and was a graduate of Boston University. He taught music in Virginia public schools for many years before retiring. He then moved to Harlingen, Texas where he served time with the Marine Military Academy as Band Master for the next ten years before retiring once again.

In 2001, Mr. Ingersoll moved to Dothan where he continued to stay active in the community for many years with programs of music and song for the Senior Citizen Centers. He was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church in Rehobeth.

He was a kind and loving husband and father. His smile was contagious. He touched many lives with his teaching of music, horn playing and in song. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
