Obituary for Frank Anderson

Franklin Monroe Anderson, of Dothan and a longtime resident of Oxford, passed away Friday morning, August 26, 2022 at Flowers Hospital following complications of surgery. He was 82.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Pastor Jason Duren officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. on Sunday prior to service time.

Mr. Anderson was born August 26, 1940 in Anniston, Alabama to Ellis Monroe and Mary Edna Adams Anderson and was a 1961 graduate of Oxford High School. He lived all of his life in Calhoun County before moving to Dothan in 2005 to be close to family. He was employed as a CNC operator at Lee Brass Company in Anniston for 43 years prior to his retirement in 2005.
He enjoyed fishing and loved basketball. He was the Calhoun County MVP in 1959. He was an avid Auburn Fan, War Eagle! He loved life in Oxford, Alabama, mashed potatoes and banana pudding, but most of all loved his family. Mr. Anderson was a member of Sunny Eve Baptist church in Oxford.
He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, William Anderson and Charles Kelley.
Survivors include the love of his life and soul mate of 61 years, Anne Anderson of Dothan; a son, Richie Anderson (Quinn) of Dothan; a daughter, Ponda Sparks of Lynn Haven, FL; four grandchildren, Cody Sparks (Rebecca) of Lynn Haven, FL, Zack Sparks of Atlanta, GA, Jordan Anderson (Saylor) of Dothan and Jack Anderson of Dothan; three great-grandchildren, Zavie Sparks of Atlanta, GA, Dawsyn Sparks of Lynn Haven, FL and Cambren Meyers of Lynn Haven, FL; a brother, Terry Kelley (Joy) of Munford, AL and lifelong friend, T.K. Miller.
The family would like to thank the nurses in SICU at Flowers Hospital for their care and compassion of Frank.
Active pallbearers will be Cody Sparks, Jack Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Zack Sparks, Richie Anderson and Terry Kelley.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Oxford High School “Class of 1961”.
