Obituary for Frederick “Kelly” Nelson
Frederick “Kelly” Nelson, age 73, a resident of Dothan, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Southeast Health.
A private Celebration of Life Service will be held later. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1401 N. Cherokee, Ave., Dothan, AL 36303.
Mr. Nelson was born October 14, 1948, in Wilmington, North Carolina to Harold Vernon Nelson, Jr. and Lucy Faye Mobley Nelson. In 1960 he and his family settled in Dothan. He was a 1968 graduate of Dothan High School and worked in the homebuilding industry as a truss designer for 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed woodworking, especially with his grandchildren. Mr. Nelson was a member of First Christian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Harold Vernon Nelson, III.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Nelson of Dothan, three children, William Chadwick (C.J.), Amy Michelle Chadwick and Annie Nelson Hall (Justin), all of Dothan; grandchildren, Kelsey Evans (Jonathan), Macey Ward, Emma Sims, Hunter Chadwick (Skyler), Andrew Chadwick, Caleb Chadwick, Faith Curtis (Shawn), Trey Hardy, Aidan Hall, Ethan Hall, and Everly Hall; four great-grandchildren, Abi Evans, Delaney Evans, Gavin Hudspeth, and Layken Chadwick; several nieces and nephews.
