Obituary for Gregory Alan Land

Gregory Alan Land (Greg), a resident of Dothan, passed into eternity Monday, November 1, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 60.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lance Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Sunday prior to service time.

Greg was born on April 18, 1961 to Gene and Catherine Land in Graceville, Florida. He grew up in Georgia prior to moving to Alabama with his wife. He always enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, and he attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church. A loving and devoted father, he placed his sales career on hold to school his children at home, all of which graduated with honors. Greg adored music and possessed a beautiful baritone singing voice. On the morning of his death, he boldly sang praises to the Lord.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cecilia Land; three children, Andrew Land, Christopher Land (Morgan), Olivia Laney (Bill) and a grandchild on the way; his parents, Gene and Catherine Land; two brothers, Roger Land (Connie) and Lance Land (Jennifer) and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Poe, Daniel Chastain, Clint Chastain, Tony Chastain, Phil Kendrick and Zane Kendrick.
