Helen Elaine Collins, 70, a resident of Dothan, passed away Wednesday morning, November 6, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the home of Gerald and Debbie Dickerson, 981 N. Broad Street, Newville, Alabama with Rev. Norman Simmons and Rev. Don Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggest bringing a covered dish to the celebration of life service. Glover Funeral Home Dothan is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Collins was born November 29, 1948 in Clayton, Alabama to Olin Shell and Thelma Matthews Cordell and lived in Eufaula for 20 years. She later moved to Dothan where she resided for the past 27 years. Mrs. Collins was a homemaker and will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her parents and a brother, Danny Cordell.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Charles Edward Collins of Dothan; four children, Bobby Max Aplin of Newville, Sharon Granberry (Donald) of Ozark, Lisa Virag of Webb, Christy Renee Whitener (Jude) of Beaumont, TX; fourteen grandchildren, Matt Shelton, Michael Aplin, Heather Aplin, Tyler Aplin, Aaron Ribaric, Joshua Aplin, Venus Deiter, Victoria Gevara, Marisa Daum, Amber Daum, Hallie Virag, Preston Lesperance, Raven Whitener, Destiny Whitener; ten great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Eddie Collins and Tony Collins, (Amy); two brothers, Junior Cordell of Clayton and Mike Rogers of Georgetown; several nieces and nephews.
