Obituary for Inez Anderson (Whitehead)
Inez Whitehead Anderson, a longtime resident of Cottonwood, passed away, Monday, February 20, 2023 at Southeast Health Medical Center following an extended illness. She was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stephen Peacock officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Assembly of God Cemetery (331 Antioch Church Rd, Gordon, AL 36343) with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mrs. Anderson was born January 16, 1936, in Jackson County, Florida, and moved to Houston County when she was eight years old where she lived the remainder of her life. In earlier years, she was a seamstress at the pajama factory. She later worked with Warner’s for 20 years and then was employed with Sony for 20 years in assembly production. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Antioch Assembly of God Church in Gordon.
She is predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Pearlie Whitehead, her husband, LW Anderson; six brothers, Crosher, Virgil, James, Milas, Silas and JD Whitehead.
She is survived by 2 sons, Raymond L. Anderson (Barbara Morgan) and Phillip J. Anderson, all of Dothan; two grandchildren, Amanda Penn (John) of Dothan and Haley Reinelt (Christopher) of Cottonwood; five great-grandchildren, Destiny Jackson (Brandon) of Headland, Sierra Hiers (Terrance) of Dothan, Alexis Sorrells of Cottonwood, Evan and Nolan Reinelt of Cottonwood; seven great-great grandchildren, Landon Hiers, Kinley Jackson, Emmy Ortiz, Mason Hiers, Weston Hiers, Quinn Jackson and Lukas Atkins; a sister, Jewell Butler of Cottonwood; special nieces, Sandra Adams Hayes of Cottonwood and Lana Denise Butler Enfinger of Dothan; a host of nieces and nephews; a special friend, James Ellis McNeal of Dothan.
