Obituary for James Wayne Crosby

James Wayne Crosby, a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his residence in Montgomery. He was 68.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Danny Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00pm until 7:00 pm.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Wayne was born April 20, 1954, in Valdosta, Georgia to James Paul Crosby and Macie Stracener and was a graduate of Thomasville High School. He later moved to Dothan where he lived for many years. He sold equipment for West Florida Equipment of Marianna, FL. He later worked as a funeral assistant at Glover Funeral Home. He coached Little League and Dixie Youth Baseball and was a member of the Dothan High School Football Club. Wayne attended Southside Baptist Church and was a member of Memphis Baptist Church.

He is predeceased by his father, James Paul Crosby, mothers, Eunice Crosby and Macie Stracener, brother, Danny Crosby, and brother-in-law, Mike Pilkinton.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Crosby of Montgomery; two sons, Matt Crosby (Katie) of Montgomery, and Adam Crosby (Kristin) of Albany, Georgia; grandchildren, Bayley Crosby (Ty), Aara Marie Crosby, Kate Crosby, and Cash Crosby; great-grandchild, Rhett Jennings; sisters, Kattie Pilkinton of Thomasville, Georgia, and Gwen Turner of Valdosta, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
