Obituary for Jesse Otis Brown
Jesse Otis Brown, a resident of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Southeast Health. He was 71.
Private services will be held by the family for Mr. Brown.
Mr. Brown was born July 20, 1951 in Miami, Florida to Donald and Mabel Wooten Brown and lived the early years of his life there. Following high school, he entered the U. S. Army and later moved to Enterprise. In 1973, he was married to Edith Holland. Following his marriage, he attended Auburn University where he received his bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
He owned and operated Brown’s Locksmith for many years. Mr. Brown enjoyed playing pool and being in tournaments. He also loved theatre (SEACT) where he enjoyed acting and music. He was a member of the Salvation Army and attended Harvest Church.
He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Earl Brown and Donald Brown, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Brown of Dothan; five sons, David Brewer (Jennifer), Jesse D. Brown, Joseph Brown, Jonathan Brown and Joel Brown; grandchildren, Zachary Brown and Lucas Brown; a great-grandson, Hudson; two sisters, Jeri Flowers (David) and Marsha Green (Phil); several special nieces and nephews.
