John Willie Miller, a former resident of Ashford, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 in Tampa, Florida.
Private graveside services for the family will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Howard Grove Church Cemetery with Reverend Van Clack and his grandson, Lt. Jonathan Ayers officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Miller was born September 26, 1932 in Ashford to Albert and Nettie Harper Miller and was a graduate of Ashford High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U. S. Army. He moved to Orlando Florida following his military service where he lived for several years. He later resided in Donalsonville Georgia where he owned and operated Miller Land Clearing. He then moved to Cairo, and then to Bainbridge for several years. In 2016, he moved to Tampa to be closer to his daughters. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bainbridge.
Mr. Miller is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Mildred Phillips who died April 1, 2020, a sister and two brothers.
He is survived by a son, Raymond Miller and his wife Joyce; two daughters, Sandy Ayers and her husband Marc and Janet Holk and her husband, Herb; two brothers, Charles Ray Miller (Mary Ann) of Cottonwoood and Robert Earl Miller (Verline) of Mt. Dora, FL; grandchildren, Felipe and Jessica Fulgencio, Taylor & Jaime Patterson, Travis and Catherine Tucker, Zachary Ayers and his wife, Morgan, Jonathan Ayers, Marcus Ayers, John & Hannah Colby, Scott Holk, Rebekah Caine and her husband, Grason, John Holk, William Holk, Josh and Brandy Hilton; great-grandchildren, Cade Hilton, Mason Fulgencio, Hadley Fulgencio, Samuel Colby, Andrew Colby, Cayden Patterson and Riley Patterson.
