Obituary for Judy Carolyn Oppert

Judy Carolyn Oppert, a resident of Taylor, died Thursday, February 24, 2022 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 76.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend James R. Homes officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Judy was born February 10, 1946 in Houston County to Richard Benson and Lena Hall Hightower and was a 1964 graduate of Wicksburg High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her amateur radio friends. Judy attended Southside Baptist Church.

Judy is predeceased by her parents, husband, George Louis Oppert, Jr. and a sister, Elizabeth Hall.

Survivors include her husband William F. Raines; three children, Scott Smith, Karen Laroche and Buddy Oppert; two step-children, April Raines and Eddie Brown (Debra); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
