Obituary for Kathy A. Bongino
Kathy A. Bongino, a resident of Dothan passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at her residence, 1105 Cynthia Drive in Dothan, Alabama.
No funeral will be planned in respect of Kathy’s wishes. A celebration of life will be held at her residence on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 3:00PM – 6:00PM. Friends and family of Kathy that are unable to attend above, may also visit her home at any time to pay condolences and/or share their memories.
Mrs. Bongino was born June 20, 1952 in Succasunna, New Jersey to Frank and Anna (Midge) Jones, spending most of her childhood there before moving to central Florida where she spent the majority of her early adulthood. Kathy earned trade certification and practiced cosmetology. She enjoyed playing darts and billiards and loved to dance.
In 1978, she moved to Dothan where she married Frank Bongino, becoming the co-owner of Frank-O-Bake Paint and Body shop, which they operated (with their son Greg) for over 30 years. Kathy enjoyed playing Bingo and cheering on her sons in league baseball and high school band.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include her two sons John Bongino (daughter-in-law, Lili, granddaughters Sophia and Olivia) of Houston, TX and Greg Bongino (Angie) of Dothan, and two sisters Debbie Jones Barto of St. Petersburg, FL and Barbara Jones Barnes of Budd Lake, NJ; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in memory of Kathy Bongino.
