Obituary for Lewis Carlton Easterwood
Lewis Carlton Easterwood, age 86, a resident of Ashford, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Flowers Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, November 5, 2021, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Dennis Singletary officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluff Springs Baptist Church, 1990 Bluff Springs Road, Ashford, AL 36312.
Mr. Easterwood was born November 29, 1934, in Dadeville, Alabama to the late Leonard and Hixie Easterwood. He spent his early years in Dothan and was a 1954 graduate of Dothan High School. After graduation, Lewis served in the U.S. Army. He later worked for Daniel’s Construction company for many years and was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Easterwood, his parents, Leonard Carlton Easterwood and Hixie Lee Mooney, sisters, Norma Faye Houde, Jean Clark, and Brenda Frith.
Survivors include his sons, Larry Easterwood (Cindy) of Dothan, Chris Easterwood (Diane) of Macon, GA and Eric Easterwood (Lyteasa) of Ashford; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be: Matthew Ryals, B.J. Ryals, Colby Easterwood, Logan Easterwood, Scott Ducker and Thomas Jones.
