Obituary for Mary Angeline Howerton (Watford)

Mary Angeline Watford Howerton, 89, a resident of Dothan, passed away Wednesday night, March 9, 2022 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022 at Judson Baptist Church Cemetery, 180 Co. Rd. 93, Abbeville, with Reverend Brandon Turner officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Judson Baptist Church, P O Box 56, Abbeville, AL 36310 or to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL, 36303.

Mrs. Howerton was born August 29, 1932 in Abbeville, Alabama, the daughter of James Alex and Mary Money Watford. She grew up in the Screamer community and was a graduate of Abbeville High School. In earlier years, she was employed with West Point Pepperell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Howerton was also a member of Judson Baptist Church, the WMU and was also active in the choir.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, George W. Howerton and a grandson, Cole Lipscomb.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Watford (Barry) of Dothan and Regina Chambers (B.J.) of Morristown, TN; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Kenton Killebrew, Kyle Killebrew, Samuel Money, Scotty Cox, B.J. Chambers and Johnny Watford.

Shay Williams will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Hospice, especially Brantley and Amy for their compassionate care of our loved one.
