Obituary for Murray D Harrell
Murray D. Harrell, age 93, a resident of Wesley Place, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2019, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating. Burial will follow at Big Creek United Methodist cemetery with Kendall Glover directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Monday prior to service time. At other times the family will be at the home of his sister, Peggy Halstead, 511 Owens Street, Dothan.
Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to Big Creek UMC Cemetery, 8071 S. State Hwy. 605, Cottonwood, AL, 36320.
Murray was born April 17, 1925, in Cottonwood, AL, to Hurley D. and Sadie McKay Harrell. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Houston County. Murray was a member of Big Creek United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nayo Smith and two brothers Russell Harrell and James Morris Harrell.
Survivors include one brother, Bobby Harrell (Glenda) of Rehobeth; five sisters, Madeline Douglas, Albany, GA, Nina Smith, Decatur, AL, Peggy Halstead, Dothan, AL, Frankie Williams (Charles), Ft. Pierce, FL, and Kay Patterson (Jim), Donalsonville, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.
