Obituary for Nadine Jones Jacobs Ashbaugh
Nadine Jones Jacobs Ashbaugh, age 86, a resident of LaGrange, Georgia, formerly of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bryan Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Black Community Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. All masking and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the services. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to West Georgia Hospice, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, Georgia 30240.
Nadine was born January 26, 1935, in Holmes County, Florida to Sammie Quentin and Evie Brooks Jones. She spent her early years in Holmes County and worked in various textile mills. Nadine was a checkout supervisor at K-Mart in Phenix City for 15 years. She was an active member of Seale Road Baptist Church in Phenix City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin Franklin Jacobs; two children, Johnny Frank Jacobs and Cheryl Mancil; three sisters, Willo Jean McNeal, Jackie Jones, and Lucy Register; six brothers, Prennis, Bobby C., Orban, Cully, Robert Fulton, and Jake.
Survivors include a son, Keith Jacobs (Gina) of Phenix City, AL; two daughters, Wanda Jacobs Haden of Dothan, AL, Patricia Lewis (Scott) of LaGrange, GA; eleven grandchildren, Misti Collins (Bryan), Ami Jones (James), Erica Elmore (Vance), Brooke Houston, Kym Nicholson (Dennis), April Jacobs, Whitney Gordy (Gentry), Brittney Edwards, Ashley Stephens, Madison Lewis, Alexis Lewis; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Mikey C. Jones (Frances) of Ocilla, GA; three sisters-in-law, Kate Jones of Dothan, AL, Annette LeMacks of Holmes County, FL, Merle Jacobs of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Vance Elmore, Raymond Houston, Gentry Gordy, James Jones, Kaleb Collins, and John Morgan.
