Obituary for Nita Jean McNeill
Nita Jean Cameron McNeill, 80, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, April 7, 2023 at her residence following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Troy West officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount of Olives Memorial Cemetery in Cottonwood with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will be receiving friends in the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service time.
Mrs. McNeill was born November 23, 1942 in Cottonwood to Henry Clayton and Ruby Lee Bruner Cameron. She was a lifelong resident of Houston County and a 1961 graduate of Cottonwood High School. She, along with her husband, Ed, operated McNeill Farms where she cooked and sold peanuts in the Wiregrass Community for over 30 years. She enjoyed working in her yards and fishing. Mrs. McNeill was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church.
She is predeceased by her parents and her husband Ed McNeill.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Jean McNeill of Dothan and Denise M. (Mickey) Blalock of Abbeville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a special dog, “Cookie”.
