Obituary for Ouida Martin
Ouida Martin, 94, a resident of Dothan, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing. Viewing for friends will be from 1:15 until 2:00 p.m. prior to service time on Tuesday. Flowers will be accepted.
Ms. Martin was born May 18,1925 in Houston County, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Wilbourn and Nancy Caroline Horn Wilbourn. She worked with GTE and helped found the GTE Credit Union where she was Manager for over 40 years. Ms. Martin was a lifelong resident of Dothan and was of Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louie Frank Martin; 7 brothers.
Survivors include: two daughters, Debbie Martin, Dothan and Donna Gayle Carmichael, Enterprise; three grandchildren, Jennifer Carmichael Byrd (Dustin), Dothan, Emily Carmichael Baxley (Hamp), Daniel F. Carmichael III (Sarah), Birmingham; four great-grandchildren, Rosemary Byrd, John Martin Byrd, Hampton Baxley, and Mary Frances Baxley.
