Obituary for Regina Jackson Ward

Dr. Regina J. Ward, age 59, loving mother of two, and adoring wife to husband of 22 years William Jeffrey Ward, was called home to be with our Lord after a courageous battle the 7th of October.

Regina was born March 4, 1963 in Dublin, Georgia and grew up surrounded by her loving family. She was a 1981 graduate of Daleville High School. She attended Enterprise Junior College before transferring to Troy University where she earned her BSN. She later received her Master’s Degree at Walden University and most recently earned her Doctorate at Samford University. Regina was an ER tech for several years and later worked as an RN at Flowers Hospital in the Cardiac Care Unit. Most recently she was a nursing instructor at Wallace College.

Regina was influenced by her family and faith to be a loving and Christian woman, always giving her time to others. Regina incorporated this into her lifetime roles as a wife, mother, nurse, and educator. As a wife and mother, she was generous, loving, and kind. As a grandmother, she spoiled her girls and loved them fiercely. In her free time, Regina loved to spend time on the water and especially loved the time spent on Lake Eufaula with family. Other hobbies and interests included reading and crafting as well as a special love of music. The value of education was near and dear to Regina as she continued to work and pursued her Doctorate earned in May of 2022. She instilled this love of learning into her students at Wallace Community College. Regina was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Geneva.

Regina is predeceased by her mother, Barbara Linda Taylor Jackson and a sister, Ralynn Gay Jackson.

Regina is survived by her husband, William Jeffrey Ward of Dothan; sons, Brent (SirLinda) Smith of Murfreesboro, TN and Brandon (Jennifer) Smith of Wicksburg; father, Kenneth (Sheila) Jackson of Ozark; siblings, Ramona (Dwayne) O'Brien of Iowa, LA, William Jackson of Dothan, Renee Jackson of Daleville and Dylan (Astra) Pentecost of Ozark; granddaughters, Rosalie Belle and Erielle Casey Smith.
