Obituary for Robert Vernon "Buddy" Jackson
Robert Vernon “Buddy” Jackson, of Cottonwood, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Southeast Health Medical Center. He was 70.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, at The Mt. of Olives Memorial Garden with Pastor Troy West officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
Mr. Jackson was born January 3, 1951, in Florala, Alabama to Vernon Rudolph and Mayrle Elmyra Huggins Jackson and lived the early years of his life in Florala, Enterprise, and Defuniak Springs. He moved to Dothan in the ‘70s and relocated to Cottonwood in 1988. Mr. Jackson enjoyed racing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Jackson is predeceased by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Martha Jackson of Cottonwood; three children, Rocky Jackson of Cottonwood, Ricky Jackson of Cottonwood and Maressa Jackson of Thomasville, Georgia; a special brother, Ronnie Jackson (Brenda) of Dothan; a sister, Patricia Knight of New Brockton; brothers-in-law, Glen Lewis, Lonnie Lewis, Randell Lewis, Jammie Beaudry; sisters-in-law, Peggy Roven, Jenny Lewis; several nieces and nephews; a canine companion, “Boss”.
