Obituary for Sherry Elaine Hoole

Sherry Elaine “Nana” Andrews Hoole, passed away early Friday morning, November 4, 2022 at her residence. She was 80.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 until 2:15 p.m. on Monday prior to service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.

Mrs. Hoole was born August 11, 1942 in Dale County, Alabama and lived the early years of her life in Pinckard. She was a graduate of Dale County High. She lived in Ashford for several years before moving back to Dale County where she lived the remainder of her life. Mrs. Hoole was a security guard at Farley Nuclear Plant for 19 years. She enjoyed dancing and going to the beach. She adored her grandchildren who held a special place in her heart.

Mrs. Hoole is predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Tracey Fortune, a grandson, Jarett Hartzog, a great-granddaughter, Shaylyn Marsh and a brother, Billy Andrews.

Survivors include her spouse, Gerard William “Jerry” Hoole of Midland City; six children, Melissa Wall (Bob) of Clanton, Keith Marsh (Janice) of Clanton, Lori Summerlin (Allen Metcalf) of Columbia, Chris Marsh (Bertha Scott) of Ashford and Kyle Marsh of Millbrook, Harlie Hammonds (D.J.) of Midland City; two step-children, Karen Lynn of Slocomb, and Gary Hoole of Dothan; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Sue Poole of Dothan and Judy Roberts (Bill) of Deatsville; several nieces and nephews.
