Obituary for Wayne Maynard Anderson

Wayne Anderson, a resident of Dothan, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Flowers Hospital.

Memorial services will be held 6:00 pm Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Camp Alaflo, 1687 County Road 156 New Brockton, AL 36351. The family requests those in attendance to be dressed in casual attire and all scouts to be dressed in Class A. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 106 to help build their new Scout Hut. Donations can be made at the Dothan Elks Lodge.

Wayne was born July 2, 1963, in Ohio to Jessie David Anderson and Mary Blount Anderson. He was a graduate of Millry High School in Millry, Alabama. He later moved to Dothan where he has spent most of his adult life. Wayne was a very active member of the Boy Scouts of America for over 15 years and was the assistant troop leader of troop 106. He loved to cook out at camp and make his famous brunswick stew and cowboy beans. Wayne was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Dothan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Mary Anderson, and a sister, Peggy Anderson.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda Anderson; sons, Matthew Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, Tanner Love, Thomas Love; daughter, Rachel Anderson; sisters, Mary Anderson, Diane Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
