Obituary for William Henry "Buddy" Ryals Jr.
William Henry “Buddy” Ryals, Jr. age 58, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at UAB Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Antioch Baptist Church in Ashford with Rev. Greg Aman and Rev. Danny Bynum officiating. Entombment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at Glover Funeral Home. The family request all masking and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church “Cemetery Fund”, 3250 South Rocky Creek Road, Ashford, AL 36312.
Buddy was born August 17, 1962, in Dothan to William Henry and Dorothy Nell Pynes Ryals and lived all his life in the Ashford and Columbia areas. He was a 1980 graduate of Ashford High School and later attended Wallace College. Buddy was employed with Tri-State Roofing and Remodeling Company, Inc. for 40 years. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Ryals, Sr.; a son, Justin Ryals; his brother, Billy Wayne Ryals, Sr.; his grandparents, Otis and Velma Ryals, and Fair Daniel and Faye Pynes.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Pynes Ryals of Ashford; three children, Eric Ryals of Columbia, Kayla Ryals of Columbia and Brandon Ryals (Cearra) of Dothan; 5 grandchildren, Tristan, Trevor, Gracie, Ayden and Easton; a sister, Stephanie Ryals Ingram (Todd) of Ashford; a niece and three nephews, B. J. Ryals, Matthew Ryals, Ashton Ingram, and Luke Ingram.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at UAB for their compassionate care of Buddy over this past week.
Active pallbearers will be Earnie Douglas, Chip Edwards, Chris Walker, William Strength, Todd Ingram and Matthew Ryals.
