Life Story for Mary Louise Battle

Mrs. Mary Louise Holland Battle, age 95, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday August 3, 2016 at a daughters home in Ashford following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday August 5, 2016 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Enon Baptist Church Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Glover Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 3257 E. Cottonwood Rd., Dothan, AL. 36301 or to Covenant Hospice, 1512 W. Main St., Dothan, AL. 36301.

Mrs. Battle was born on October 16, 1920 in Houston County the daughter of Idis Holland and Lonie Bodiford Holland. She was a lifelong resident of Houston County and was a homemaker. Mrs. Battle was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Mae McCallister Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dudley Battle; 2 sons, Paul & Allen Battle; 2 granddaughters, Dianne Holman & Angela Brown; grandson, DeWayne Waters; brother, James Holland.

Survivors include: 2 daughters, Barbara Buckhalt (Willette), Ashford; Glenda Jordan, Dothan; daughter-in-law, Dorenda Battle, Dothan; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be: Ken Buckhalt, Paul Battle, Donald Battle, Jeffrey Battle, Hayden Buckhalt, Blake Forrester and Phillip Parrish.

Honorary pallbearers will be: great-great grandsons, Tanner & Evan Taylor, Brad & Hudson Battle.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to Covenant Care Hospice Staff, Cynthia, Carla, Cagney, Lynn and January.
