Obituary for Alvin Wellington Smith Jr.

Mr. Alvin Wellington Smith, Jr. ( retired Major U.S. Air Force) a resident of Dothan died Sunday April 21, 2013 at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness.

Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. CDT Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Air Force Hospice Chaplain officiating and Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Smith was born on August 4, 1934 in Arcadia, PA. the son of Alvin Wellington Smith, Sr. and Margaret Ellen Larson Smith. Mr. Smith was retired as a Major with the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of service, he also retired as a certified nurse anesthetist. Mr. Smith was a Shriner.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Glenda Smith; two sons - Koby (Crystal) Smith of Donalsonville, GA and Monte W. Smith of Birmingham; five grandchildren.
