Jerry Phillip Ward, (SGT, U.S. Army, Ret.) passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Flowers Hospital. He was 71.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Ward was born November 26, 1948 in Ohio to Manuel and Mary Bentley Ward and spent his early years in Ohio. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Army. He traveled extensively during his military career and was the recipient of numerous medals and commendations. Mr. Ward has been a Dothan resident for the past two years and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher Scott Ward of Dothan and Brian Allen Ward of Celina, OH; a sister, Annie Leaven of Piqua, OH; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
